Hyderabad, August 17: Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi announced that all efforts would be made to expand the MIM across India.
Delivering the first speech in a public meeting after a gap of nearly eight months, Akbar Owaisi told thousands of people who gathered at Khilwat Grounds on Saturday night that the MIM would expand its base to Maharashtra, Karnataka, Bihar, Gujarat and other parts of the country. Stating that every community has a representative party in India, he said there is not a single national party that represents over 25 crore Muslims in the country. He said extensive tours would be made to different parts of the country to form a strong political platform of Muslims and backward communities.
Akbar Owaisi made it clear that the MIM was not against any religion. However, it was opposed to the Sangh Parivar and other communal outfits. Ridiculing those who used to refer the MIM as a small party, he said that the MIM is now being counted as a representative organisation of Indian Muslims across the globe. He expressed concern over the on-going turmoil in Egypt, Syria and other countries in the Middle-East and said that Muslims should understand the conspiracies being hatched to divide them.
The MIM leader cautioned the Muslims of Hyderabad against the conspiracies of divisive forces and said they should restrain from fighting amongst themselves on sectarian or other basis. He said all mosques should be kept clean from all differences and they should be named after Khulfa-e-Rashideen, Ahle-Bait Athaar, Sahaba-e-Ikraam and wherever possible, the mosques should be named as Babri Masjid to send out a message that if you demolish one mosque, then we will construct hundred others.
Akbar Owaisi recalled the services of late Salar-e-Millat Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi for the Muslim community. He said that Salar-e-Millat was a selfless politician whose only goal in life was to ensure socio-economic and political empowerment of Muslims. He said thousand of students have passed out from the institutions formed by Salar-e-Millat.
Speaking about the cases registered against him in Adilabad, Nizamabad and other places for allegedly making hate speeches, Akbar Owaisi said that he has total faith in judiciary and would come out clean of all charges leveled against him.
Moulana Mufti Khaleel Ahmed of Jamia Nizamia, Moulana Masood Hussain Mujtahedi, MLAs Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, Virasat Rasool Khan, Mohammad Maozam Khan, former Mayor Mir Zulfeqar Ali, former Deputy Mayor Jaffer Hussain Meraj and others also spoke.
