CM reviews strike situation, alternate arrangements

Hyderabad, August 13 : Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy reviewed the strike situation, attendance of employees, alternative arrangements made and emergency services etc with Chief Secretary Dr. P.K. Mohanty and other senior officials at the Secretariat here on Tuesday.

The Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to closely monitor the situation and to make alternative arrangements for departments like Electricity, Water, Health, Transport, Civil Supplies etc. Kiran Kumar Reddy in particular directed the E.O., TTD and Collector, Chittoor to make alternative transport arrangements for the pilgrims to reach Tirumala.

Following the directions from the Chief Minister, the Chief Secretary reviewed the situation prevailing out of the APNGOs’ strike with the Principal Secretaries and other top officials of the Energy, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Finance, Revenue, Roads & Buildings, Panchayatraj, Transport, Civil Supplies, Health, Social Welfare, Tribal Welfare, Education, Police, APSRTC etc. The Chief Secretary also directed the RTC to make alternate arrangements particularly for the pilgrims at Tirumala.

The Chief Secretary directed the officials to make alternative arrangements to minimise hardship to the Public, particularly poor in the wake of strike. He stressed the need to maintain essential supplies, make available power, water, health services and transport to the people so that normal lives are not affected. He also asked the Health Department to see that all Government hospitals work normally and patients are attended and emergency operations are done so that the patients do not undergo any problems. He also wanted the officials to see that all emergency services like water supply, sanitation, road cleaning etc. are maintained. He asked the APSRTC to see that essential city services be maintained as far as possible so that hardships of the commuters are reduced. INN
