Hyderabad, May 31 : State Information Commissioner C Madhukar Raj has disposed 314 appeal cases during the month of May.
Further, wherever it was found that the information was denied to the Applicants without adequate reasons, as many as 119 Show Cause Notices were heard during the month and a penalty of Rs 1,00,000 was imposed in 32 cases on the Public Information Officer who were found to have not acted reasonably and diligently in supplying the information.
Since July, 2012, a total of 2,822 Appeal Cases have been heard and disposed. During this period, the SIC also heard 836 Show Cause Notice cases and imposed penalties in 277 cases where information has been denied to the Applicants without reasonable reasons.
As on now the Appeal cases received in the Commission during September 2012 are being heard. The hearing in to the 2012 year cases, pertaining to Home, Municipal Administration, Endowments, Finance and Planning, Irrigation and CAD, Food Civil Supplies and Tribal Welfare Departments is expected to be completed by July 2013, according to Madhukar Raj.
