Over 65 per cent candidates pass Inter Second year exams

Hyderabad, April 26 : Maintaining their dominance, girls outperformed boys in the Intermediate Second Year examinations whose results were released here on Friday evening.

A total of 2,54,258 girls or 69.04 per cent passed the Inter Second Year exams while the boys’ pass percentage stood at 62. Girls’ pass percentage was much above the overall pass percentage of 65.36 per cent in the general regular category. Similarly, a total of 34.77 per cent girls cleared the exam compared to 28.30 per cent boys in general private category. The overall pass percentage in vocational courses was 48.60 per cent in regular and 25.55 per cent in private categories.

Releasing the results at the Board of Intermediate Office at Nampally here, Secondary Education Minister K Parthasarathy said that this year’s overall pass percentage was more than previous year (58.43 per cent). Of 7,71,587 regular candidate, about 48.31 per cent secured A Grade or more than 75 per cent marks, 31.81 per cent got B Grade (60-75 % marks); 14.99 per cent got C Grade (50-60 % marks) and 4.90 per cent secured D Grade (35-50%).

In General category, Krishna district stood on top with a pass percentage of 77 followed by Visakhapatnam (72), Nellore (69), Guntur (68), Chittoor (67), West Godavari (66), Ranga Reddy (66), Srikakulam (60), East Godavari (60), Prakasam (60), Kurnool (58), Kadapa (57), Anantapur (56), Khammam (56), Hyderabad (56), Vizianagaram (56), Adilabad (54), Karimnagar (52), Warangal (51), Nalgonda (49), Nizamabad (48), Medak (46) and Mahabubnagar (45).

In Vocational, Srikakulam was on top with a pass percentage of 65 followed by Nellore (60), Krishna (58), Nalgonda (57), Chittoor (54), Adilabad (52), Visakhapatnam (50), Kurnool (50), Guntur (51), Kadapa (48), Hyderabad (48), Vizianagaram (48), Ranga Reddy (47), Medak (46), Khammam (43), Prakasam (42), Anantapur (42), Warangal (40), Nizamabad (38), West Godavari (38), East Godavari (37), Karimnagar (34) and Mahabubnagar (28).

Among groups, the MPC (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) was on the top with a pass percentage of 75.37 followed by BPC (67.99), MEC (73.52), CEC (50.07) and HEC (38.31).

The minister said that the Principals will collect Memoranda of Marks and Tabulation records from the Regional Inspection Officers on April 30 and the Memoranda of Marks will be given to candidates. The discrepancies, if any, found in the Memorandum of Marks should be referred to the Board through concerned Principals before 25-05-2013.

The Second Year Intermediate Advanced Supplementary Examinations, May/June 2013, will be held from May 22 between 2.30 PM and 5.30 PM and the last date for payment of examination fee is May 6.

The last date for online payment of fee towards Recounting/Photo copy-cum-reverification is May 7. INN
