Hyderabad, April 24 : The Cyberabad Police on Wednesday arrested two notorious habitual offenders who were allegedly involved in 23 cases of of Day-cum-Night Burglaries.
Addressing a press conference here, Cyberabad Commissioner Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao informed that the Cyberabad’s Central Crime Station officials recovered nearly one Kg gold ornaments and 3.74 Kgs Silver ornaments, one Laptop (DELL), two digital cameras and two motor bikes from the accused.
Disclosing the details, the Commissioner said that in the first case, Sheelamshetty Venkata Ramana, is a notorious HB offender committing offences for the past 20 yrs and previously he went to jail 20 times. He is a Dossier Criminal of Satyanarayanapuram P.S of Vijayawada City. Earlier, in the year 2011, he was arrested by Kushaiguda Police and underwent jail term for more than one and half years and released from Cherlapally jail in the month of July 2012. After release from jail, he committed 12 burglaries including five in Cyberabad, four in Mahabubnagar and three in Kurnool.
Sheelamshetty was apprehended by the CCS Saroornagar Police and stolen property of 83 tulas of gold ornaments and 2.20 Kgs Silver articles have been recovered.
Giving the details of second case, the Commissioner said that the arrested accused, Manigandla Vijay Kumar alias Chinna is a notorious old offender committing HB offences since 2010. Previously he was sent to jail four times. Recently he was arrested by the Jeedimetla Police in burglary cases and sent to jail and released on February 9 this year. After release from jail, he committed eight burglaries and two motor cycles theft cases in Cyberabad Commissionerate and one burglary in Sadasivapeta P.S limits of Medak District along with his two associates.
The said alleged offender was apprehended by the CCS Malkajgiri Police and stolen property about 13 tulas of gold ornaments, 1.54 Kgs Silver articles, one Dell laptop, two digital cameras and two motor cycles have been recovered.
Tirumala Rao praised the good work done by the Inspectors of CCS Saroornagar and Malkajgiri along with their crime teams in apprehending the above two notorious habitual offenders which led to the detection of 23 cases in all. INN
