KCR demands steel plant at Bayyaram

Hyderabad/Warangal, April 21 : The Telangana Rashtra Samithi has announced that it will take the issue of allocation of Bayyaram mines to Visakha Steel Plant to public.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao said that his party would never allow the VSP to get control Bayyaram mines. Instead, he demanded that the government set up a steel plant at Bayyaram. He also informed that he would be writing a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in this regard. Further, the TRS will launch a signature campaign demanding setting up a steel plant at Bayyaram. As many as one crore signatures will be collected for this purpose, he said.

Meanwhile, talking to reporters in Guduru, TRS floor leader Etela Rajender demanded that the State Government immediately cancel the orders allocating Bayyaram Iron Ore to the VSP. He warned the government of dire consequences if the GO was not cancelled. He said the iron ore from Telangana would not be allowed to be sent to a steel plant in Andhra region.

Later, TRS MLAs and MLCs visited Guduru in Warangal district and Bayyaram Mines in Khammam district. INN
