GHMC renames Kukatpally Y-Junction after Dr Ambedkar

Hyderabad, March 13 : The “Y” junction near Kukatpally, previously known as Godrej Junction, has been renamed as “Dr B R Ambedkar Y-Junction”.

The Council of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation in its resolution No. 252 of the General body, dated 24.05.2012 has approved the proposal for renaming the junction after Dr Ambedkar as per the request of the President and other office bearers of Dalithula Aikya Vedika.

Home Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy has given a note to GHMC forwarding the representation of Dalithula Aikya Vedika, Kukatpally on 26.07.2011. Basing on the representation and note above mentioned the Commissioner, the GHMC has put up a preamble before the Standing Committee and the Standing Committee, GHMC in its resolution no. 392 has approved the same.
