Govt responsible for farmers’ suicide: TRS

Warangal, March 3 : The State Government should take responsibility of the suicides of farmers for imposing heavy power cuts, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi has said.

Talking to reporters here, TRS MLA T Harish Rao said that the power cuts were leading to the suicides and the officials should own up responsibility. Telangana region is severely hit by the power cuts as most of the farmers here are dependent on borewells and lift irrigation, he said.

Farmers had stormed an electric sub-station at Shyampet in the district angered by the power cuts recently. The crop has come to harvest and many farmers are hard pressed for power as they have to draw water. INN
