City police impose restrictions on kite flying

Hyderabad, January 10 : City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma on Thursday imposed certain restrictions on kite flying during the Sankranti festival.

The Commissioner has imposed ban on kite flying on all thoroughfares and in and around places of worship. He has appealed to the parents and citizen of Hyderabad to advise their children for not to fly kites from the terraces, which do not have parapet walls, to avoid any untoward incident. They should also advice their children for not to run on the road or vulnerable places in collecting the kites. They may even be vulnerable to electrocution, if they try to collect the kites from electric pole.

Anurag Sharma also appealed to the revelers not to collect wood forcibly for bonfire and they should use it only with the consent of owners.

These restrictions would be in place from January 13 to 15th.
