Hyderabad, Jan 22 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Thursday spoke to Leader of the Opposition and YSRCP President Jagan Mohan Reddy over Tirupati by-elections.
According to souces, Yanamala requested Jagan to ensure that the Tirupati by-elections are unanimous. Jagan has reportedly given an assurance that the YSRCP would not field its candidate for Tirupati seat, where by-elections got necessitated due to the death of sitting MLA M Venakataramana of TDP on December 15.
It may be mentioned that the TDP too did not field its candidate for Allagadda seat where by-elections got necessitated due to the death of YSRCP leader Bhuma Shoba Nagireddy in a road accident. The YSRCP had fielded her daughter, Bhuma Akhila Priya, and she was elected unanimously.
For Tirupati by-polls, the last date for filing of nomination is January 27 and the TDP is trying to ensure that its TDP candidate, who is yet to be announced, gets elected unanimously.
