Hyderabad, Jan 7 (INN): More than 20 former corporators of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) may join the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the next one week.
According to sources, as many as 21 former corporators of TDP and five of Congess party have been approached by the TRS leaders who convinced them to join the ruling party. They have been given an assurance that they would be given TRS ticket from the same divisions which they represented in 2009 elections. Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav are reportedly supervising the entry of former corporators into the party.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, sources say, is keener on admitting TDP’s former corporators. He reportedly spoke to a few of them and asked them to get in touch with either Harish Rao or Talasani to confirm their joining by January 10.
Sources further say that at least seven ex-corporators of Congress party are planning to join the BJP.
