Frooq Hussain condemns shoddy arrangements at Haj Camp

Hyderabad, Sept 14 (INN): Congress MLC Farooq Hussain on Sunday strongly condemned the chaos that prevailed during the flagging off of first batch of Haj pilgrims at Haj House at Nampally.

Speaking to media persons here, Farooq Hussain said that the TRS Government did not make proper arrangements for the Haj pilgrims both at the Haj House and at the Haj Terminal of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. He alleged that there was no proper coordination between the SHC officials and the airport and airline authorities which led the pilgrims to wait for more than 10 hours before the final departure.

Farooq Hussain also alleged that the TRS leaders tried to take political mileage out of a pious and religious event like departure of Haj pilgrims to their holy journey. The Haj pilgrims, who were wearing ‘Ahram’, were not given proper respect and their seats were occupied by the TRS activities at the Haj camp. He demanded that all unauthorised persons, including the political activists, should be barred from entering the Haj camp. Further, the Haj Camp should not be used to make political speeches.

The Congress leader criticised the State Government for not releasing the promised funds for the Haj camp. He said although Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali repeatedly assured that Rs 2 crore of sanctioned funds would be released on priority basis, nothing was done in this regard. He warned the government of strong protest, if proper facilities were not given to the Haj pilgrims.
