Hyderabad, Aug 9 (INN): Former Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was not serious about the development of Telangana State.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Ponnama alleged that KCR did not follow up the Polavaram issue in a proper manner. Neither effective representations were made with the Centre nor were an all-party delegation sent to national capital on Polavaram issue which resulted in causing injustice to Telangana State. Similarly, he said that the TRS Government failed to bring due share to Telangana in the Railway Budget.
Ponnam further alleged KCR was concentrating only on enjoying the power and ensuring development of his family members. Stating that KCR played no role in the formation of Telangana State, he said that Congress-led UPA Government and Sonia Gandhi granted statehood to Telangana due to the public movement and the supreme sacrifice made by over 1100 youth.
He said that the Congress party was willing to cooperate with the State Government for development of Telangana. However, he said massive agitation would be launched if the government fails to perform.
