Yanamala demands Spl Status for AP for 15 years

Hyderabad, June 15 : Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Sunday requested the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre to extend special category status to the residuary State for 15 years.

Speaking to media persons after assuming charge at the State Secretariat here, Ramakrishnudu said that the BJP has already promised to extend the special status by 10 years. But in order to attract companies and investments in the residuary State, the Centre should extend the status till 15 years. Further, he said that Andhra Pradesh lacks funds and was not in a position to run the administration in a proper manner. Therefore, he urged the Centre to bear the financial burden for the next three to four years.

Ramakrishnudu said that despite financial crunch, the TDP Government would fulfill all the promises that it made with the people. He said that the common people would not be burdened to increase revenues. He said strict financial reforms would be implemented to control the expenditures.

The minister signed the first file related to budget proposals.  INN
