Hyderabad, June 2: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday appointed two members of his cabinet as the Deputy Chief Ministers.
Mohammad Mahamood Ali and Dr T Rajaiah have been appointed as the Deputy Chief Ministers. While Mahmood Ali belongs to the Muslim minority, Dr Rajaiah is a prominent Dalit leader. With their appointments, KCR has fulfilled his promise of giving the Deputy CM post to a Muslim and Dalit. Mahmood Ali will also hold the portfolio of Revenue, Relief & Rehabilitation, ULC, Stamps & Registration. Similarly, Dr Rajaiah will have the portfolio of Medical & Health.
Meanwhile, KCR has kept several important portfolios including Welfare with him. Besides the GAD, KCR holds the portfolios of SC, ST, BC and Minorities Welfare, Municipal Administration & Urban Development, Energy, Coal and all other portfolios not allotted to other ministers.
Nayni Narshimha Reddy got the portfolios of Home, Prisons, Fire Services, Sainik Welfare, Labour & Employment. Similarly, Etela Rajender got Finance & Planning, Small Savings, State Lotteries, Consumer Affairs, Legal Metrology, Civil Supplies.
Pocharam Srinivas Reddy got Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Dairy Development Corp., Seeds Corporation. While KCR’s nephew T Harish Rao has been allotted Irrigation, Marketing & Legislative Affairs, his son K Tarakarama Rao got Panchayat Raj and Information Technology.
T Padma Rao Goud has been given the Excise & Prohibition and P Mahender Reddy got the Transport portfolio. Similarly, Jogu Ramanna has been allotted the portfolio of Forest & Environment while G Jagadish Reddy got Education. (INN)
