Telangana will develop under KCR’s leadership: Mayor

Hyderabad, June 2: GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain has congratulated all the citizens of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and more importantly the officers and staff of GHMC for achieving the long precious dream of separate Telangana State.

The Mayor hoisted the national flag on Monday at the GHMC Head Office in connection with the celebration of Telangana Formation Day. While addressing the gathering, he said after a continuous struggle for the last six decades, the State of Telangana has turned into a reality. In achieving this immaculate task, many people have lost their lives and remain everlasting Martyrs. “I hope that the decade long turbulence in Telangana state and particularly in GHMC has come to an end on today,” he said.

Majid Hussain said that all the citizens must rededicate themselves for the welfare and prosperity of this new state and must work in a team and every one of us should realize the duties and rededicate to prove that Telangana is of its own kind and GHMC is a role model for all remaining local bodies.  He also informed that it is a matter of proud Hyderabad city has been selected to host the mega international event of Metropolis Summit in 2nd week of October, 2014. Delegates from over 125 countries are expected to participate in this mammoth event. “Our officials team should gear up to ensure that this prestigious event should be held in a befitting manner and show the rest of the world the development took place in Hyderabad City. He hope that, the Hyderabad may host many more such event in future with the guidance of Government of Telangana under the   leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao,” he said.

The Mayor hoped that under the dynamic leadership of KCR and his cabinet colleagues, the State, especially the GHMC, would develop up to the expectations of the people of Telangana State.

TDP floor leader Singireddy Srinivas Reddy, Standing Committee member Habeeb Zain Arif and senior officials of GHMC participated in the meeting. (INN)
