Renew Trade Licenses by June 15: GHMC Chief

Hyderabad, May 19 : GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar directed all the traders in GHMC limits to renew their Trade license as required under section 521 and 621 of HMC act 1955 for the year 2014-15 in any of e-seva centers/Citizen Service Centres.

The traders who have not obtained Trade License so far are required to apply in online or approach the nearest E- Seva centers / Citizen Service Centres in GHMC circle office to apply for fresh Trade License.

The Commissioner informed that the Corporation vide Resolution No. 371 Dt: 24-02-2014 has approved for Re – Structuring of Trade license fee along with new Trade license fee Schedule based on the type of trade a simple procedure is adopted to issue professional Trade license by way of implementation of self assessment of Trade License method. The Trade license fee schedule is divided into 5 Categories based on the type of trade and the fee shall be fixed on the plinth area accordingly where the rate varies.

Somesh Kumar said that in case of two rates applicable for same trade, the higher rate shall be applicable. All the traders are herby requested to avail the opportunity to obtain Trade license by making payment online by obtaining provisional Trade License certificate immediately either in me seva / Citizen Service Centres /GHMC/online. The trade license should be renewed every year before 31st march. The payment made beyond 31-03-2015 automatically attracts increase of 7.5%. on existing Trade License on account of inflation.

The Commissioner also informed that all the traders that they have to apply for fresh license on their trades immediately to avoid the legal proceedings towards those trades which have not obtained the Trade license. The last date for renewal of Trade license without penalty for the year 2014-2015 is June 15 and thereafter 2% interest shall be charged for every month.

The Commissioner appealed to all the traders to renew their Trade license to avoid penalty before June 15. Those who have not renewed the trade license or running the trades without obtaining Trade license are treated as unauthorized trades and the Commissioner, GHMC reserves the right to get the premises closed and the goods and articles used for running the said trades are seized as per the HMC act 1955.
