Police retrieve unidentified man body from lake

Hyderabad, Feb 9 : The Pahadishareef police fished out the body of unidentified man who accidentally fell into the Venkatapur lake.

The Pahadi shareef police retrieved the decomposed dead body of an unidentified man Aged about 35 years from Venkatapur lake on Sunday morning hours. The body has been preserved at the Osmania Hospital mortuary for autopsy and identification. Actual cause of death not known yet, Pahadi shareef police said.

Suspended Polytechnic Attender commits suicide

Hyderabad, Feb 9 : A 40 year old Suspended Polytechnic Attender commits suicide by hanging in limits of Mangalhat police station.

According to police, deceased A Naresh (40) an Attender in Govt. polytechnic college kalapather S/o A Narsimha R/o Indiranagar of Mangalhat, Since 2 months Naresh did not attend his Duties and his misbehavior he was suspended from duties on 27 Dec 2013, and he is under treatment in Mental Hospital Erragadda for his disorder or disable due to semi mental, On Saturday night hours deceased committed suicide by hanging at his residence.

Mangalhat Police registered a case and after postmortem deceased body handed over to his relatives. Sub Inspector G Ravi Said.

Family Dispute drives private employee to suicide

Hyderabad, Feb 9 : A 26 year old private employee committed suicide by hanging due internal family problems on Saturday night hours at his residence.

According to Saroornagar Police, the deceased, V Vamshi Krishna (26) S/o Hanuman Goud R/o Shardanagar of Saroornagar took the extreme step of suicide hanged himself with ceiling fan at his residence on Saturday night hours due to some family disputes.

Police registered a case and dead body shifted to Osmania Hospital Mortuary for postmortem, after autopsy deceased body handed over to his relatives.

Man sets wife ablaze for more dowry

Hyderabad, Feb 9 : A 32-year-old woman was set ablaze allegedly by her husband after she failed to bring more dowry from her parents.

According to Patencheru police, the deceased, Varsha Singh, was allegedly set ablaze by her husband Preetam Singh, on February 5 at their residence in Isnapur. She was admitted to the Osmania General Hospital where she died on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment.

Enquiries by the police revealed that Varsha was married to Preetam, an employee of a private firm, on December 10, 2006. However, only three months after the marriage Preetam started harassing Varsha for more dowry. She was also allegedly harassed by her mother-in-law Lakshmi Bai and father-in-law Sunder Raj Singh. A police complaint was lodged in the Saroornagar Police Station in this regard and later the matter went to court. However, Preetam expressed regret over his actions and promised the court that he would not mistreat or misbehave with his wife in future.

The couple then shifted from Kothapet to Isnapur. Although things went well for a long period, Preetam again started harassing Varsha for more dowry. He allegedly used to come home in inebriated condition and beat up Varsha. He used to express anger against Varsha for dragging his parents to court in dowry harassment case.

On February 5 too, Preetam had an argument with his wife on dowry issue and out of rage, he had set her on fire causing nearly 80 per cent burns which consequently led to her death on Sunday.

The Patencheru police have registered a case of murder and dowry-harassment against Preetam under Sections 302, 498 A and other relevant sections, according to Inspector Ch Shankar Reddy.

Police ascertain identity of couple killed in train accident

Hyderabad, Feb 9 : The Kachiguda Railway Police on Sunday ascertained the identity of a couple which was found dead on the railway tracks near Vidyanagar on Saturday.

While the man has been identified as C Ramulu (45), the woman has been identified as C Yellamma (40). They were rag-pickers and residents of Sattapur of Mahabubnagar district. Police suspect that the couple was killed after being hit by a MMTS train while they were crossing the tracks.

The bodies were handed over to the relatives after post-mortem was conducted at the Osmania General Hospital mortuary on Sunday, Sub-Inspector Mohammad Riyaz Ahmed said.
