Ashok Babu faces tough fight in union elections

Hyderabad, Dec 22 : The stage is set for the elections of Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers (APNGOs) Association as the last date for filing of nominations came to an end on Sunday.

Two 17-members panels are competing against each other to take control over the powerful union of government employees. While one panel is headed by present Working President Ashok Babu, the new panel is led by Basheeruddin of Prakasam district. The new panel has accused Ashok Babu of misappropriation of funds and failure to lead the agitation for Samaikhyandhra. Besides employees, Basheeruddin’s panel is reportedly enjoying the support of some strong political groups.

The elections for the APNGOs Association will be held on January 5. INN
