Union Cabinet clears Telangana Bill

New Delhi, Dec 5 : The Union Cabinet on Thursday night cleared the Bill for formation of Telangana State.

The new State will comprise of 10 districts and Hyderabad will be the common capital for Telangana and residual State of Andhra Pradesh for a period not exceeding 10 years. Both the States would get special status under Article 371 (D) for equitable opportunities.

“We want the bill to be tabled in winter session of Parliament,” Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde told the media persons after the Cabinet meeting. INN
