Hyderabad, Nov 14 : Agriculture Minister Kanna Lakshminarayana on Thursday made it clear that he was not in the race for the Chief Minister’s post.
Talking to reporters here, Kanna dismissed all speculations that his meeting with Congress President Sonia Gandhi was related to the replacement of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. Describing such reports as conspiracy against him, he said that he was not invited by Sonia Gandhi and he himself sought her appointment to brief her about the prevailing political situation in the State. He said he requested her to keep the State united. However, she declined the request stating that the Congress High Command has already taken a decision on this issue.
Kanna further made it clear that there would be no change of guard in the State.
Earlier, there were lot of speculations that Kanna Lakshminarayana would replace Kiran Kumar Reddy to ensure smooth bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. However, Kanna himself dismissed all such reports as mere speculations of the media. INN
