Media twisted Rahul Gandhi’s statement: Shabbir Ali

Hyderabad, Oct 26: Former minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir has accused a section of media of misinterpreting the statement of Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

Shabbir Ali, in a statement here, said that Rahul Gandhi’s statement on victims of Muzaffarnagar communal riots was given a twist by the Sangh Parivar elements present in the media in order to tarnish his image among the common Muslims in India. He said Rahul Gandhi never linked the Muslims with Pakistan’s ISI. He only stated that organisations like ISI might exploit the riot victims if justice was not done with them.

Shabbir Ali said that the patriotism of Indian Muslims cannot be questioned by anyone. Right from Tipu Sultan to Feroz Khan, there are hundreds of examples wherein Muslims sacrificed their lives, whenever required, for the country and would continue to do so in future. Loving our motherland India is part of our faith and no one will be allowed to question or suspect our patriotism, he said.
