New Delhi, Oct 24 : YSR Congress Party president and Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy and Nandyal MP SPY Reddy filed a petition in the Delhi High Court on Thursday seeking its intervention in acceptance of their resignation as Lok Sabha members.
Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has recently rejected the resignations of 13 MPs from Seemandhra region under Rule 240 and article101 (3). While Congress MPs Lagadapati Rajagopal, U Arun Kumar and A Sai Pratap submitted fresh resignations and Lagadapati even withdrew his petition in Delhi High Court filed earlier, the YSRCP leader decided to challenge the Speaker’s decision in a court. He contended that decision to resign from the post was not taken on spur of moment. INN
