Hyderabad, Oct 20 : State Minister and Seemandhra Legislators Forum Convener S Sailajanath on Sunday accused the Centre of adopting undemocratic means to divide Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking to media persons here, Sailajanath found fault with the process of bifurcation adopted by the Central Government. He said that the Centre was violating all set norms and precedents that were adopted in dividing other States in the country. He said that it was improper for the Centre to ahead with Telangana formation while ignoring the agitation launched by thousands of people in Seemandhra region.
Sailajanath said that the Centre’s stand was not in the interest of country or democracy.
Meanwhile, Social Welfare Minister Pithani Satyanarayana on Sunday claimed that all Seemandhra leaders including Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy were committed towards the cause of Samaikhyandhra. Speaking to media persons separately, Pithani said that the ministers and Congress legislators would ensure that the Telangana Resolutions gets defeated on the floor of Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly.
