Petty dispute leads to auto-driver’s murder

Hyderabad, Sept 11 : A 32-year-old man was brutally murdered in broad day light in the limits of Golconda police station here on Wednesday.

According to Golconda inspector Syed Nayeemuddin Javed, the deceased – Nehal Khan, auto-driver, was killed by Yaseen and others over a petty dispute. Yaseen, a cycle taxi owner, along with his followers, came to the residence of Nehal Khan at Dhankota on Wednesday. He had an argument with Nehal’s elder brother Junaid Khan for not returning a bicycle that was taken on rent. The argument turned into a scuffle with Yaseen and his followers attacking Junaid with a stick and fled from the scene.

However, when Junaid along with his brother Nehal and mother was proceeding towards the police station in an auto-rickshaw to lodge a complaint, Yaseen and his followers allegedly followed them and intercepted near Dhankota. The 5-7 member gang then allegedly attacked Junaid and Nehal with lethal weapons. While Nehal died on the spot, Junaid sustained serious injuries and was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. Nehal’s body was shifted to the Osmania Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

On a complaint lodged by Nehal’s younger brother Shakeel Khan, the Golconda Police registered a case of murder against Yaseen and his followers. Further investigations are on. INN
