Hyderabad, August 14 : Former minister T Jeevan Reddy on Wednesday claimed that TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu got himself trapped by supporting the formation of Telangana and was now trying to take a U-turn.
Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises here, Jeevan Reddy said that Naidu supported the demand for Telangana State assuming that the Centre would go against it. However, with the Centre accepting the demand, Naidu was trapped in a bad situation and is now trying hard to take a U-turn, he claimed.
Jeevan Reddy also ridiculed the claims of TDP leaders of development of Hyderabad. Asking them to cite examples of their contribution for Hyderabad, he said that Naidu’s regime was full of corruption. He said several public sector companies in Telangana region were handed over to the private parties of Andhra region in the name of privatisation.
He also advised the Seemandhra leaders not to provoke the people of their region on the statehood issue. He said that the Central Water Commission would resolve any dispute related to river water sharing and the leaders could approach the Antony Committee for the redressal fo their grievances. INN
