Hyderabad, August 12 : GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu along with Deputy Mayor G Rajkumar, CPI (M) State Secretary K Narayana visited Indira Park on Monday on the request of Indira Park Walkers Association.
The Association requested the GHMC to take up repairs, renovations and maintenance part to keep this prestigious locale as a visiting spot. In view of the request, the Commissioner has reviewed the ongoing works which are being taken up in Indira Park with the Additional Commissioner (Biodiversity) and the Director, Urban Forestry. The works including development of Rose garden in 1 acre land (under progress); development of Palmatum Park in 1.5 acre land; shade garden near Ganesh temple in 1 acre land; developments of greenery near Children play area and purification of water in the lake by bio-logical methods.
Simiarly, at instructions were issued for taking up works for Jalagam Vengala Rao Park. They include improving the ambience of entry plaza, completing the pathway by laying gravel for walkers, improving the lighting system in the park, to speed up the tunneling work for sewage water diversion from the lake by the Project Division and outsourcing the maintenance of the toilets in all major parks and adding few more flowering plants in the park.
N Chandra Mohan Reddy, Addl. Commissioner (Urban Biodiversity), Siva Parvati, Zonal Commissioner, Central Zone, Y.Ramesh, Director, Urban Biodiversity and the staff of Engineering & Parks Wing participated in the visit. INN
