Hyderabad, July 23 : Peddapalli MP Dr G Vivek on Tuesday called on Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to submit a report against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s alleged propaganda against Telangana movement.
According to sources, Vivek reportedly told Shinde that the Chief Minister was trying to create a false impression that formation of Telangana State would breed naxalism. Stating that Maoists were more active in Seemandhra region, Vivek reportedly cited the example of attack on former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu near Tirupati. He feared that the denial of statehood for the region would increase naxalism in Telangana.
Vivek also told the Union Home Minister the Telangana movement has been completely peaceful and there was no single attack on the assets of Seemandhra people.
Talking to reporters later, Vivek expressed confidence that the Telangana Bill would be introduced in the next session of Parliament. He also denied reports of him re-joining the Congress party. INN
