Gulbarga, July 23 : Railways Minister Mallikarjun Kharge laid the foundation stone for a Rail Bridge across Bennithora River on Bidar-Gulbarga new Railway line here on Tuesday at a function held at Mahagaon. The new rail bridge across Bennithora River is estimated to cost Rs 12.60 Crs and is expected to be complete in 18 months.
Bidar MP and former Chief Minister of Karnataka Dr. N. Dharam Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Basavaraj Patil Sedam and Gulbarga Rural MLA G Ramakrishna were amongst the public representatives and dignitaries present on the occasion.
Addressing the large gathering present on the occasion, Mallikarjun Kharge stated that Railways was committed to meet the expectations of the people with regard to new railway projects, train services etc. The Railway Minister assured that the work on the Bidar-Gulbarga New Railway Line project will be speeded up and completed fast. Due priority will be accorded to the other ongoing and new rail projects in Karnataka, Kharge added.
Subodh Jain, Member Engineering , Railway Board and D.P. Pande, General Manager, South Central Railway were also present at the function. INN
