Hyd Administration on alert as Hussain Sagar reaches FTL

Hyderabad, July 19 : GHMC Incharge Commissioner Naveen Mittal has directed the GHMC officials to be alert as there is a 24-hours rain forecast.

Mittal inspected the Full Tank Level Hussain Sagar along with Additional Commission (Planning) D Ronald Rose, Zonal Commissioner K Siva Parvathi and informed that the Hussain Sagar reached 513.45 meters against the FTL of 513.41 meters. He further advised the citizens of low lying areas of Hussain Sagar downstream to be cautious as the present situation is tense.

He further informed that any sudden rainfall can result in inundation of several colonies such as Arundathi Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Aravinda Nagar, Rathna Nagar, Shivanand Nagar, Datta Nagar and abetting areas of Domalguda, Ashok Nagar and Himayath Nagar. The situation is tense GHMC, Collector, Hyderabad and Revenue Officials are continuously monitoring and alerting the residents with the help of local representatives and the concerned Corporators to shift the nearby rehabilitation centres.
