Cong. conspired to keep Jagan in jail, alleges YSRCP

Hyderabad, July 6 : Reiterating that the discrimination and vindictive politics of Congress and CBI came to the fore with the kin of former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana revealing startling facts about the conspiracy and arm-twisting tactics, YSR Congress has said the government will go to any extent to keep YS Jagan Mohan Reddy away from people unmindful of the consequences.

“Mopidevi’s brother revealing that one union minister has told him that Venkataranama will get bail only if he turns as approver shows the dubious functioning of Congress and CBI which has insulated former Union Minister Pavan Kumar Bansal from the Railway scam,” Party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu told reporters here on Saturday.

Mopidaevi, who hails from the fishermen community, was sacrificed by the Congress government to set an example and showcase that a cabinet minister was jailed so why not YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. But many skeletons are dropping from the cupboard.

The union minister’s blatant condition to ensure bail to Mopidevi Venkataramana reaffirms our stand that there is a conspiracy to jail YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and keep him judicial custody for a long period and create situations periodically to renew the case with new elements like the recent issue of the two other ministers, he said.

“When Mopidevi was in CBI custody and was in a disturbed mood, Congress emissaries went to him and took his resignation under duress. The resignation letter was drafted in the Chief Minister’s Office and states that the minister had signed on the papers on the instructions of YSR and it was not a cabinet decision.

With Harinath Babu, brother of Mopidevi Venkatarmana, revealing about the Congress game plan and how the family members and the former minister, who belong to the weaker sections, were harassed by the State and the CBI, it becomes clear that the Congress wants to keep Jagan in jail as they cannot face him politically.

Whenever their stand weakens, they create new issues and now it is the turn of the memo to arrest the two ministers named in the charge sheet. This pattern has been very familiar and the Congress and CBI try to bring out new episodes whenever they feel their case is losing ground.

We have seen how PK Bansal has been given a clean chit in the Railways scam involving his nephew though a section of media has established that the trade-off was done from Bansal’s official residence and from his personal telephone.

CBI is still a political tool in the hands of Congress and it is being used to settle political scores and will serve to save people who are with the Party by whatever means.

On Telangana issue, he said Congress has been whipping regional passions to gain political mileage. It has never told its stand on the issue but is dragging it beyond the limit of endurance. Congress is afraid of elections. This was proved when the disqualification of 15 rebel MLAs was delayed till the Assembly completed its four year term to ensure that there would be no by-election.

But Congress cannot keep its dubious game rolling forever, the 2014 verdict will show Congress its place and people will elect YS Jagan Mohan Reddy with a decisive mandate, he said. INN
