GHMC vows to implement Citizen’s Charter

Hyderabad, June 24 : GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu on Monday informed that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation was dedicated to implement citizen charter by duly following the time frame as per the directions of the Government.

The Commissioner said that the Citizen Charter in the limits of GHMC has come in to force from June 19th 2013 to have transparency while resolving the grievances of public and 39 different type of services will be settled in a time bound manner as per the Citizen Charter.

Krishna Babu said that the GHMC has already opened 24 /7 Call Centre to receive the public grievances pertaining to various civic related issues and the grievances are being disposed in a proper manner and further stated that action has also been taken against officials who have misguided the system as the work was attended.

The Commissioner further stated in order to conduct the training of trainers GHMC is conducting a training programme for all the HODs, Additional Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, AMOHs, Assistant City Planners and Superintendent Engineers. He further informed that Circle level training programmes about Citizen Charter will be conducted for creating awareness among the field level functionaries.

Krishna Babu said that the negligent attitude of officials towards implementation of citizen charter will be viewed very seriously, fines will be imposed on the individual officers ranging Rs. 50 per day for Engineering and Sanitation complaints and Rs. 100 per day for Town Planning and other important issues from their salaries.

The Commissioner has appealed the citizens avail this opportunity by duly visiting the citizen service centres of their concerned circle and apply through online in order to settle their civic related issues at the earliest. He further directed the concerned officials to display Citizen Charter boards in all the Zonal and Circle Offices and at Head Office at prominent locations for public visibility and awareness. INN
