Rs 1 Cr spent on Kakatiya festival

Hyderabad, June 18 : The State Government has spent an amount of Rs 1 crore for organising Kakatiya Utsavam at Warangal district from December 21 to 23rd last year.

Replying to a question raised by MLAs C Muthyam Reddy and Errabelli Dayakar Rao during Question Hour, Tourism Minister Vatti Vasanth Kumar said the Centre’s share in the expenditure was Rs 25 lakh. The inaugural function was held at Warangal Fort, Ramappa and Thousand Pillar Temple and other places and cultural programmes events, rallies, seminars and sports will be conducted through out one year period, he said.

As many as eight official committees were constituted by the Warangal District Collector for organising the festival and non-official committees would be constituted as and when required. INN
