Legislative Council session from June 17

Hyderabad, June 9 : The second phase of budget session of State Legislative Council will begin from June 17.

This time, the council will have 10 new faces in the House including the new Leader of the Opposition Yanamala Ramakrishnudu. Similarly, TRS will have a new floor leader Swami Goud during the second leg of the budget session.

The session of the council too is likely to be stormy due to the entry of senior leaders like Ramakrishnudu and former minister Mohammad Ali Shabbir. The opposition parties are likely to pull up the government over the issues of tainted ministers, corruption, Telangana and irregularities in the APPSC.

Of 97 seats in the Legislative Council, as many as 15 seats (to be elected by local bodies) are vacant. The other members include 31 from MLAs quota, 20 from Local Authorities, 15 nominated and eight each from Teachers and Graduate constituencies. INN
