Hyderabad, May 24 : As many as 45,642 candidates have abstained from the Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary Examinations held in two sessions across the State on Friday.
Of 4,80,242 candidates in General and 14,785 in Vocational category who registered for the exams, 34,124 or nearly 6.89 per cent candidates abstained in the morning session for Mathematics, Botany, Civics and Psychology Paper – I exam.
Similarly, of 1,12,806 candidates in General and 5,965 in Vocational category who registered for the exams, 11,518 or nearly 9.70 per cent candidates abstained in the afternoon session for Mathematics, Botany, Civics and Psychology Paper – II exam.
While 24 cases of malpractice were booked in the morning session, 22 cases booked in afternoon session. The Board of Intermediate Education has sent observers to Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Vishakapatnam, East Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, Prakasham, Mahabubnagar and Ranga Reddy districts. The examinations were conducted peacefully without any untoward incident, the Board said.
In view of the hot weather prevailed in the state, all the Chief Superintendents are instructed to arrange First Aid facility at centres in consultation with the DMHO and also to provide safe drinking water to the students at the examination centres. INN
