Adilabad, February 15: The Adilabad Court on Friday granted bail to MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi in the alleged hate speech case.
The court asked the MIM leader to furnish two sureties of Rs 10,000 each. Earlier in the day, the Nizamabad Court has also granted bail to MIM leader in a separate alleged hate speech case.
With both the courts granting bail, the MIM leader is all set to be released from the Adilabad District Jail, where he is lodged since his arrest on January 8.
It may be metioned that the arguments on bail petition in both the cases of hate speeches were completed on Thursday. Representing the MIM leader, his advocate Niranjan Reddy told First Additional District Session Judge A Venkateshwar Reddy that Akbar Owaisi’s has been deteriorating since his arrest on January 8 and he needs immediate treatment in a super-specialty hospital. He said that police has completed its investigation and his voice sample was also recorded on February 2. He pointed out that the court has already approved bail for Azeem Bin Yahya, the Accused No 2 in the case, on health grounds and therefore, Akbar Owaisi should also be released on medical grounds. He assured that the MIM MLA would extend all cooperation to the police in investigation.
Later, on court’s directions, investigation officer A Raghu submitted a report on the status of investigation. The judge had reserved the judgment for Friday wherein he granted bail to MIM leader.
