GHMC to take up fogging operations in all divisions

Hyderabad, January 4 : GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain informed that the corporation would be taking up fogging operations in each and every division from Saturday onwards as the GHMC has procured new 20 fogging machines in addition to the existing 134 machines.

The Mayor said that the citizens could contact the concerned Corporator for taking up fogging operations in their division from now onwards. This was stated by the Mayor after he along with GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu, held a review meeting of North Zone and West Zones along with the concerned Corporators and senior officials at Panwar Hall here on Friday.

The Mayor directed the officials to develop the open places as play grounds where there is no water to develop the areas as a park. Responding to the plea of the most of the Corporators for sanction of more mini and high mast lights, he said that the government has banned new mini mast and high mast lights in view of energy conversation.

Meanwhile, the GHMC Commissioner directed the Deputy Municipal Commissioners to keep a separate register for registering complaint regarding bore wells etc., and personally to monitor the works. He also further directed the Deputy Municipal Commissioners to review periodically.

The Commissioner said works pertaining to open places and burial grounds and also informed that officers were not holding back any file concerning these works. He also stated that Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAP) was ready to sponsor Rs 2.1 crores per stadium in each constituency and directed the Additional Commissioner (Sports) to ask for the proposals from concerned MLA in whose constituency there is no stadium. He also directed the officials to prepare estimates for a mini stadium in Malkajgiri Constituency.

The Commissioner Directed the Additional Commissioner (Planning) to conduct feasibility study for constructing a multilevel parking at Old Jail Khana on Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. He said that Electrical timers were compulsory as the manual work was becoming costlier day by day. He also informed that 50 timers of both types Time to Time and Depending on light have been placed in each Circle on experimental basis and the type of timer will be decided basing on the results.

Krishna Babu also directed the Zonal commissioners to hold meeting with Executive Engineers and General Managers of HMWS&SB regarding works proposed for water works under Corporators budget and also directed to HMWS&SB officials to involve Corporators in all the works that are being taken up with GHMC funds. He also instructed the HMWS&SB officials to popularize the concept of 30 – 70 per cent among the colony Residents to take up more works.

Zonal Commissioners S Hari Krishna (North) and S Aleem Basha (West), Additional Commissioners, K Dhanunjay Reddy, L Vandan Kumar, P Anuradha, D Jayaraj Kennedy, Siva Parvathi, R Dhan Singh, Engineer-in-Chief K Suresh, Chief Engineer, Deputy Commissioners, ACPs, Executive Engineers, Medical Officers of both the zones have participated in the meeting.
