Prez returns to New Delhi

Hyderabad, January 1 : After a week-long winter sojourn, President Pranab Mukherjee left for the national capital on Tuesday.

The President was given a ceremonial send off at the Begumpet Airport. Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha, GHMC Mayor Mohammad Majid Hussain, Ministers – Dr J Geetha Reddy, D Nagender, Ponnala Lakshmaiah and other dignitaries were present at the airport.

During his visit, the President inaugurated the Fourth World Telugu Conference on December 27 besides participating in the MGR University Convocation in Chennai. He also visited Maharashtra and participated in various programmes in Pune and Mumbai before returning to the city. He also delivered the PV Narasimha Rao Memorial Lecture on Monday.

The President, who stayed at Rashtrapati Nilayam at Bollarum in the city, reached the Begumpet Airport in Air Force Helicopter and left for New Delhi in a special flight at 1.30 pm.
