Hyderabad Metro Rail celebrates 65th Republic Day

Hyderabad, Jan 26 : The 65th anniversary of Republic Day was celebrated at Metro Rail Bhavan with nationalistic fervour on Sunday.

HMR MD NVS Reddy unfurled the national flag and addressed the officers, engineers and staff of HMR and L&T. Emphasizing the importance of rail based mass transit systems to solve the traffic problems in Hyderabad and other Indian cities, he elaborated the plans of Government of India and state Governments to strengthen public transportation systems in Indian cities. Stating that everybody is keenly watching the progress of Hyderabad Metro Rail project, which is the world’s largest mass transit project in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode, he goaded the employees of HMR and L&T Metro Rail to strive hard to execute the project as an iconic project.

“We are building a different metro rail system which nobody in the world is building”, Mr. Reddy said. The Metro Rail stall kept in the Numaish this year is attracting huge crowds. He reiterated the commitment to build a world class Metro Rail system in Hyderabad which is not just a simple metro but an effort to transform Hyderabad into a people friendly green city.
