Digvijay Singh downplays CM’s objections on T-Bill

New Delhi, Jan 26 : AICC General Secretary and in-charge of Andhra Pradesh Congress affairs Digvijay Singh on Sunday downplayed the objections raised by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on the State Reorganisation Bill 2013.

Speaking to media persons here, Digvijay Singh said that there was nothing new on the Chief Minister’s contention about mistakes in the Telangana Bill. He said he was aware that the Chief Minister has given notice to Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar seeking permission to move a resolution to reject the AP State Reorganisation Bill on the floor of the House. Indicating that such a move might not be of high significance, he said that the Bill was sent to the Assembly only for its views. He said that the decision on the resolution would be taken in the meeting of Business Advisory Committee.

Digvijay Singh expressed satisfaction that over 80 MLAs so far have participated in the discussion on the Telangana Bill.

When asked about the selection of candidates for Rajya Sabha elections, he said that the candidates would be selected after consulting the State leadership. He said there were no specific guidelines to select the candidates.

Earlier, Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy called on Digvijay Singh and briefed him about the resolution that the Chief Minister proposed to bring in the Assembly. INN
