Iqbal takes over as Wakf Board’s Special Officer

Hyderabad, Dec 20 : Commissioner of Minorities Welfare Department Shaik Mohammed Iqbal on Friday took charge as the Special Officer of the AP State Wakf Board.

Iqbal’s term will be for six months or till the AP State Wakf Board is reconstituted, whichever is earlier. The State Government has appointed him as Special Officer (FAC) under the provisions of the Wakf Act 1995 (Central Act No 43 of 1995) with immediate effect on expiry of the term of the AP State Wakf Board.

Speaking to media persons, he would strive hard to protect the Wakf properties across the State. He said that a special drive would also be launched to evict the encroachments from the Wakf properties. He described the additional responsibility as bless from the Almighty and assured that he would take all measures for the protection and development of Wakf properties.
