Police foil OU students’ protest near Raj Bhavan

Hyderabad, January 26 : The City Police on Saturday foiled an attempt by member of Osmania Univesity Joint Action Committee to stage protest near Raj Bhavan.

A group of students were taken into the custody by the police when they tried to move towards Raj Bhavan while raising Jai Telangana slogans. The students were demanding that the Centre honour its promise of announcing decision on Telangana by January 28.

Several dignitaries including Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, cabinet ministers, officials and other personalities were present in the Raj Bhavan as part of “At Home” event hosted by Governor ESL Narasimhan. INN
