Sangareddy, January 22 : A local court on Tuesday rejected the bail petition of MIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi in a case registered against him and others in 2005.

Asaduddin Owaisi was sent to judicial remand for 14-days on Monday after he appeared before the Sangareddy Court in a case registered against him for allegedly abusing the then District Collector Anil Kumar Singhal and his deputy JC Bhima Naik on April 16, 2005 at Mathangi in Patancheru mandal. A non-bailable warrant was pending in the court as he did not appear in the court since 2009.

Following his appearance, the court remanded him to judicial remand till February 2. His lawyers filed a bail petition and it was heard by the court on Tuesday. After completing the hearing on Tuesday morning, the magistrate posted the judgment to post-lunch wherein he rejected the bail petition.
