Hyderabad, April 10 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and other delegates will leave for China in the wee hours of April 12.
With India looking towards China for investors, the Chief Minister will make a high-level pitch for investments in Andhra Pradesh to attract investments mostly focused on the energy sector and manufacturing.
In the first leg of his visit, he will be in Beijing. He will meet the executives from iPhone-maker Foxconn and also Chinese low-cost smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi and highlight how AP has the potential to become a hub of manufacturing for these gadget-makers within and outside the country.
With Andhra Pradesh planning to have electronic clusters as part of its Electronics and Manufacturing Policy, Xioami and Foxconn will be tapped to set up facilities here. He will also tour Huawei’s R & D centre and have a first-hand experience of the facility.
He will meet executives from software giant Siemens. Siemens operates in power generation, transmission and distribution and offers smart grid solutions. He will also meet executives from Sinoma International Engineering Co. Ltd which operates in equipment manufacturing and supply and engineering sector.
The Chief Minister will have a meeting with Chinese “Go Global” pioneer SUMEC Group. The Group has presence in technology, renewable energy (solar projects), garment-making, research and development, manufacturing, and financial sector.
The Chief Minister will also meet members from several industrial bodies in China such as International Department of the CPC Central Committee, China National Textile and Apparel Council and China Association for Small and Medium Enterprises.
In the second leg of his tour, he will visit Chengdu where he will have a tour of Peking University – well-known for its research work.
In the last leg of his tour, he will visit Shanghai’s Yangshan Deep Water Port – world’s busiest trading port which handles a staggering 32 million containers a year, carrying 736million tonnes of goods to far-flung places around the globe.
During his visit, the Chief Minister will also address industrialists, investors and businessmen at three round-table meetings in Beijing, Chengdu and Shanghai, explaining the investment opportunities in the state of Andhra Pradesh.
He will meet with government officials of China including Mayor of Beijing Municipality, Mayor of Chengdu and also with Shanghai’s Mayor.
