Two persons commit suicide

Hyderabad, Feb 9 (INN): A 20-year-old youth committed suicide after he was chided by his parents for not going to work.

According to Alwal police, the deceased, G Dinesh, took the extreme step on Sunday night by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Macha Bollaram. He was labourer and was not going for work for the past few days.

In another case, 36-year- M Narender, committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling at his residence in Gagillapur on Friday night. According to Dundigal police, Narender was a businessman and had suffered heavy losses in recent past. The same is suspected to have driven him to the extreme step.

Husband’s harassment drives woman to suicide

Alleged harassment by her unemployed husband drove a 30-year-old woman to suicide.

According to Bowenpally police, the victim, Shaheda Begum, who had set herself ablaze on February 4 at her residence in Tadban, died at the Gandhi Hospital on Sunday night. She took the extreme step after her husband Javeed beat her up in inebriated condition over some trivial issue. He was unemployed and was a habitual drunkard. He used to allegedly harass her on regular basis. Police have registered a case under section 306 against him and began investigation.

10-year-old boy among three killed in road accidents

In separate cases, three persons, including a 10-year-old boy were killed in road accidents at different places in the city.

In Moinabad police limits, 10-year-old Vinay died on the spot when the bi-cycle he was riding was hit by a DCM van on Monday morning. The boy met with the accident near his residence in Chilkur. Police have registered a case of negligent driving against the DCM driver, according to Sub-Inspector G Sanjeev.

In another case, 50-year-old B Yadagiri sustained grievous injuries when the auto-rickshaw he was riding was hit by another auto near Al-Saba Hotel in Vijaya Nagar Colony on Monday morning. He was immediately rushed to the Osmania General Hospital where he died a few hours after admission. He was a resident of NBT Nagar near Banjara Hills, according to Sub-Inspector Yadagiri Rao.

In a different case, an unidentified man succumbed to the injuries which he suffered on February 7 after he was hit and run by an unidentified vehicle near APR Garden in Champapet. He was admitted to the Osmania General Hospital where he died on Sunday night. The deceased was aged about 45 years. The Saroornagar police have preserved the body at the OGH mortuary for post-mortem and identification.

Goldsmith killed in train accident

A 23-year-old man died on the spot after he was hit by a train near Uppuguda railway crossing.

According to Kachiguda Railway Police, the deceased, V Narender, met with the accident when he tried to pass the railway crossing on his bike while it was closed for traffic in view of arrival of a train on Sunday night. He was a goldsmith and resident of Warasiguda in Secunderabad. (INN)
