Hyderabad, Aug 20 (INN): The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has surveyed more than 20 lakh households in its limits.
According to GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, while 15,24,392 households were identified in the Census 2011, a total of 20,11,293 households were covered during the Intensive Household Survey conducted on Tuesday. A total of 7,557 households refused to participate in the survey. Likewise, 60,660 households were found locked during the survey. Approximately 149,308 households could not be covered on Tuesday.
The maximum 479,959 households were covered in North Zone, 455,160 in Central Zone, 383,897 in West Zone, 367,575 in South Zone and 324,702 households in East Zone. However, the Old City (South Zone) is on top with approximately 50,000 households leftover followed by 36,425 in Central Zone, 30,000 in East Zone, 24,633 in North Zone and 8,250 in West Zone.
The GHMC Commissioner said that the left over cases would be taken up shortly after the dates are decided by the government and the process would be notified.
