Hyderabad, July, 18 (INN): The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday refused to stay the Intensive Household Survey to be conducted by the Telangana Government across the 10 districts of the State on Tuesday.
Giving its verdict on a petition filed by senior lawyer PV Krishnaiah, the court gave its nod for the survey while refusing to grant stay or issue interim orders against the survey. The court upheld the contention of government counsel that the survey was aimed at gathering details of citizens for proper and focused implementation of welfare schemes.
Earlier, the petitioner argued that the survey was being done in violation of the constitutional norms and procedures.
