Dy CM launches ‘Owner-cum-Driver’ scheme

Hyderabad, Aug 13 (INN): Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali flagged off the vehicles as part of Owner-cum-Driver scheme at Peoples Plaza, Necklace Road here on Wednesday.

The Deputy Chief Minister praised GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain and Commissioner Somesh Kumar for launching an innovative scheme to help unemployed youth. He also appreciated SBH Managing Director Santhanu Mukherjee for his prompt action in sanctioning the loans to the beneficiaries for 105 vehicles. Following request by the beneficiaries seeking reduction in loan amount, he said he would try to arrange subsidy from the State Government. He

Mahmood Ali also assured that he directed the officials concerned for identifying the places for the construction of the community halls in all the 24 Assembly Constituencies where the GHMC is planning to spend Rs. 1 crore for construction of community hall duly involving Self Help Groups.

Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy also praised the launch of innovative scheme wherein drivers could become owners of vehicles.

The Mayor, Commissioner, Deputy Mayor G Rajkumar and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
