Hyderabad, Aug 9 (INN): The TRS Government on Saturday made it clear that it would not accept the Centre’s dictate of handing over the Law and Order powers of Greater Hyderabad to the Governor.
Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy accused the Centre of trying to encroach upon the powers of State Government. He alleged that the Centre’s circular issued on Friday night to the State on the subject was done at the instance of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu. He said there was not a single attack on the Seemandhra people living in Hyderabad or elsewhere in Telangana. However, by asking the State to delegate the powers to Governor, the Centre is trying to instill fear among the people.
Meanwhile, Information Technology Minister K Tarakarama Rao said that the there was not a single incident of any kind of violence in Hyderabad ever since TRS came to power after the formation of new State on June 2. He too alleged that Chandrababu Naidu and Venkaiah Naidu hatched a conspiracy to disturb the functioning of TRS Government by asking the Centre to issue a fresh circular in this regard. He said that the TRS Government would not accept the Centre’s dictate at any cost and would wage a political and legal battle against the same.
