Hyderabad, Aug 4 (INN): The first budget session of Telangana State Legislative Assembly is likely to begin on September 10.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday visited the State Legislative Assembly and held interactions with Assembly Speaker Madhusudan Chary and Council chairman Swamy Goud on the dates for budget session. Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao was also present in the meeting. Later, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma, Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and Hyderabad Police Commissioner P Mahender Reddy were also called for their views.
According to sources, KCR wanted the session to begin from September 3. However, the City Police Commissioner suggested that the session be convened from September 10 in view of Ganesh immersion procession on September 8th. He reportedly said that it would difficult for the police to provide security for the 10-day festival and Assembly session simultaneously.
During the hour-long discussion, the Chief Minister also discussed other related issues although the final decision on the dates remained pending.
